Verdanterra is seeking an experienced Project Manager and Lead Field Ecologist to support environmental projects.
This is a full-time, permanent position. This position involves acting as lead delineator/project manager on various projects involving, but not limited to, wetland and waterbody surveys, habitat assessments and environmental permitting. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, directing, and mentoring field ecologists in the collecting, organizing, and summarizing field data. Candidates must be capable of understanding and implementing health and safety plans and interfacing with both internal staff (project managers, project coordinators, junior field ecologists), as well as client representatives and other project discipline leads.
Field work is likely to require long days outdoors in variable weather and terrain. Some projects will require travel and six-day work weeks. Work locations vary, ranging throughout the Midwest, Eastern, and Southern United States. The ideal candidate will have intimate knowledge of USACE wetland regions including the Midwest (highest priority), Northcentral and Northeast, and Eastern Mountain and Piedmont Region. Candidates must have a positive attitude, be physically prepared to work in difficult conditions, and be eager to become a critical part of our dynamic and growing team at Verdanterra.
The ideal candidate will be based out of, or be willing to relocate to, the upper Midwest, preferably Wisconsin or Minnesota.
